Free AI video generator
Free up to the render.
Paid from there. No exceptions.
TheBoringApp is free to sign up for and free to use up to the render: no credit card, no credit system, no limit on prompts or prompt rewrites, and a free still-frame preview for every clip with 3 free regenerations. Only the finished video costs money, bought outright from $0.80 each with no subscription.
Most tools that say free mean a trial that wants a card, or a pile of credits that buys about one usable clip. Here the split is simpler and it never moves: everything you do before a video exists is free, and the finished video is bought outright. This page is that boundary, written out.
What is free, and with no card
Signing up is an email address. No card is collected, so there is no trial clock running and nothing that converts into a charge if you forget about it.
Writing prompts is free. Rewriting them is free: you can type "tiny astronaut in my coffee" and have it expanded into actual cinematic direction - lens, lighting, grade - as many times as you like without spending anything.
Previewing is free. Before any video exists we render one still frame from your prompt and show it to you, and you can regenerate that still up to 3 times per clip until the composition is the one you wanted. Building a whole 10-clip timeline out of approved stills costs nothing.
The one thing that costs money
Rendering. Turning an approved still into a moving 8-second clip is the only action in the product that spends anything, and by then you have already seen the exact frame the clip is built from.
That ordering is the entire point. The clip is generated from that still, so if the frame is right the video is right - you are not paying to find out what the model decided to do with your sentence.
Failed renders are refunded automatically. If a generation breaks on our side it is not deducted, so a bad run costs you a few minutes rather than a video.
What a video costs
Videos are bought outright: $5 for 5 videos, up to $20 for 25. They are counted in finished videos rather than credits, tokens or seconds of render time, and there is no subscription attached to any of it.
Nothing renews and nothing expires. Buy once, and the balance sits there until you spend it - a quiet month costs nothing, because there is no plan running in the background.
Finished videos are kept for 13 days from creation, so download anything you want to keep. That is the storage the render provider gives us, not a limit we invented to sell you out of.
