Introducing Boring Studio

Questions

Free AI video generator,
answered honestly.

What it costs, how long the videos are, and what happens before anything is charged.

Is TheBoringApp really free?
Free to use, paid to render - and we would rather be blunt about it than let you find out later. The account, the prompt writing and the prompt rewriting are free, unlimited and need no card, and every clip gets a still preview plus 3 free regenerations of it. There is no free finished video: rendering one is the single paid action in the product.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. You sign up with an email address and can build a whole timeline of approved stills without entering one. A card is only involved when you buy the videos to render them.
How long can the videos be?
Each clip is 8 seconds. A project holds up to 10 clips on a timeline, which is 80 seconds in one piece, and every clip continues from the one before it so the character and the setting stay consistent across the whole thing.
What aspect ratios can I generate?
Two: 9:16 vertical for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, and 16:9 for YouTube and landscape. There is no 1:1 square option, because the video model behind the product cannot render square.
How is this different from other AI video generators?
Most tools take your prompt, charge you, and hand back a video you may not want. We render a single still frame first and show it to you for free. The whole clip is built from that frame, so if the still is right the video is right, and nothing is charged until you approve it.
What am I actually buying?
Finished videos, not credits, tokens or seconds of render time. They are bought outright: 5 for $5, up to 25 for $20 ($0.80 each). There is no subscription and nothing renews. A finished video is one you approved.
How long does a video take to generate?
Usually two to five minutes. You do not have to sit and watch it: the video appears in your history when it is ready.
What happens if a generation fails?
It is not counted against you. Failed generations are free, so a bad run costs you time rather than a video.
Can I download the videos?
Yes, from your history the moment a video is ready. Videos are kept for 13 days from creation, so download anything you want to keep.
Do unused videos expire?
No. Videos you have bought sit on the account until you spend them. There is nothing to roll over because there is no period to roll over from - nothing resets, and nothing is taken back.
Is there anything to cancel?
No. Every purchase is a one-off, so there is no plan running in the background, nothing to cancel and no renewal date to remember. Stop using it and you stop paying, automatically.

Free to try. Paid to render.

No card, no credits to decode. Write, rewrite and preview as much as you like - you only pay once you approve a still and render it.
